Additional Saxon schools granted financial support - Additional schools in Saxony receive financial support
Hey there! Let's dive into some exciting news about vocational schools in Saxony! Get ready to learn about EU funding, modern learning spaces, and strengthening skilled workforces!
Seven lucky vocational schools in the heart of Saxony are about to receive a significant financial boost, totaling over 1.3 million euros from the Just Transition Fund (JTF) and state co-financing! This announcement came from the Saxon State Ministry of Education as they aim to adapt vocational training to new labor market demands and bolster the workforce in structurally weaker areas.
According to Education Minister Conrad Clemens (CDU), this investment will create state-of-the-art learning spaces, ultimately improving the long-term viability of vocational schools in Saxony. So, who's on the recipient list?
- The Professional Training Center (BZ) Leipziger Land is in line for nearly 325,000 euros to upgrade specialized cabinets.
- The BZ Eilenburg stands to gain around 304,000 euros, including funds for new heating technology.
- The BZ Löbau will receive approximately 256,000 euros for specialized equipment and workshops upgrades.
But why stop there? The Just Transition Fund supports regions impacted by the transition towards a climate-neutral economy, such as the Lusatian Revier (regions of Bautzen and Görlitz) and the Central German Revier (Leipzig, Leipziger Land, and Nordsachsen), as well as the city of Chemnitz.
The good news doesn't end here—previous funding rounds had already earmarked additional resources for schools in Leipzig, Wurzen, Chemnitz, Bautzen, and Niesky, among others. The total funding available for the 2021-2027 period reaches around 43 million euros from EU and state resources, with a maximum of 90% eligible costs covered.
With the EU playing a decisive role in this transformation, it's clear that Saxony is determined to shape the future of education and economic development in harmony with the larger European Union vision. So gear up, Saxony, we're creating the future (one modernized vocational school at a time)! 🎉🎉
