After a three-decade tenure, renowned Fox News anchor and Trump critic Neil Cavuto bids farewell to the network.

On Thursday, Cavuto made the declaration during his afternoon show "Your World," expressing that he'd been planning to move on for some time, but he's not abandoning journalism, merely leaving this specific platform.

He expressed, "I've got to do what I love, which is reporting the news. Not yelling the news, not blowing up the news. Not labeling people, just calling it like I see it, following the news, upholding truth and being fair to all."

Cavuto commenced his career with Fox News when it first launched in 1996, transitioning from CNBC to Murdoch's fledgling right-wing network. By his farewell, he was managing around 12 hours of content weekly across both Fox Business and Fox News channels.

Despite being offered a prolonged contract extension, Cavuto chose to decline, according to sources. It's reported that he was offered an extension, but at a reduced salary, which he opted out of.

In recent years, Cavuto gained recognition as one of the few Fox News anchors that actively fact-checked and even critiqued Trump, given his background in business news. He felt it was his duty to distinguish fact from fiction, particularly when financial commitments were concerned.

However, Cavuto's unwavering commitment to truth came at a cost, losing some viewers. After interrupting McEnany's 2020 press conference, as she persisted in propagating false claims regarding voter fraud, several Trump supporters never forgave him.

Trump rejoiced at Cavuto's departure, believing it was past due.

"EXCELLENT NEWS FOR AMERICA! Neil Cavuto, the Least Popular Host on Fox, by a landslide, is quitting - It should have happened much sooner!" Trump announced on his Truth Social platform.

Conversely, many others lauded Cavuto, particularly during his final broadcast.

"I've always appreciated you, you call it like it is, you're not a 'yes-man.' It's an honor to be on your show," The Hill editor-in-chief Bob Cusack stated.

"Bravo, Neil Cavuto, for 3 fantastic decades at Fox News. Fair and balanced, truly, Neil never backed down, even in the Trump era," former Fox News anchor Geraldo Rivera commented on Twitter.

Cavuto also expressed gratitude towards Fox for their support throughout his numerous health challenges, including multiple sclerosis, heart surgery, and a severe bout with Covid-19.

Cavuto's decision to leave Fox News stirred discussions in the media business world. Several analysts speculated about his future plans, suggesting he might explore new opportunities in journalism.

Despite leaving his long-time position at Fox News, Cavuto's influence in the business media sphere remains strong, with many predicting his impact on journalism will continue to be felt.
