Richard "Rick" Taylor, a beloved husband, father, and dedicated Walmart employee, passed away on July 20, 2025, in Socorro, New Mexico, after a year and a half of fighting esophageal cancer, which he was diagnosed with in February 2024.
Born on July 3, 1979, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Rick spent his formative years in various cities across the mainland, including Reno, N.V., Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Las Cruces, and Socorro. He graduated from Los Lunas High School in 1997.
Rick's career with Walmart spanned many years, with him holding roles as Team Lead and Coach in both Las Cruces and Socorro. His dedication and hard work were evident in his service.
Prior to his Walmart career, Rick served in the US Navy from 1997-2001 as a Petty Officer 3rd Class. During his service, he was stationed in Japan and had the opportunity to travel to Dubai and Australia.
Rick was a loving husband to Denise and a devoted father to his two pets, Hana (dog) and Dosia (cat). He was also the recipient of a special gift - a signed bobblehead from George Kittle and a 49ers military beanie.
