Agricultural bank Rosselhozbank boosted loans for farm work in Omsk region
In a significant boost for Russia's agricultural sector, the provision of funds for seasonal field work has seen a substantial increase, particularly through the state support mechanism. According to recent reports, almost half of the funds (237.2 billion rubles) were provided on preferential terms, nationwide.
This increase in support has had a noticeable impact on small and medium-sized entrepreneurship within lending for seasonal field work. The volume of lending has risen by more than 35% compared to the first half of the previous year, reaching 70 billion rubles.
One of the key regions benefiting from this increased lending is the Pрииrtyshье region, where over 75% of the funds allocated by Rosselkhozbank were provided to farmers on preferential terms. In the first half of 2025 alone, Rosselkhozbank allocated 6 billion rubles to support seasonal work in the region.
This focus on timely financial assistance is a priority for banks like Rosselkhozbank, with their director, Lev Yanayev, stating that their aim is to provide support to farmers and agricultural enterprises in the region. Maxim Levshunov, chairman of the "Narodnyi Fermer" association in the Omsk region, echoed this sentiment, stating that access to preferential loans is a key factor for farmers in developing their business.
Nationwide, Rosselkhozbank has allocated 494.4 billion rubles to support seasonal work since the beginning of the year, marking a 5% increase from the same period in 2024. This increase in lending has led to a significant rise in the lending indicator in the Pрииrtyshье region, which has increased by 60% compared to the same period in 2024.
However, while there is clear evidence of increased lending for seasonal work, there is currently no detailed distribution or quantitative data available on an increase in lending specifically for seasonal work by federal district or key regions for 2025. This lack of specific data is due, in part, to the broader economic challenges facing Russia's financial sector, including rising credit risks and potentially increased borrowing costs or restructuring.
Despite these challenges, the sowing area in Russia is expected to reach approximately 84 million hectares by 2025, according to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev. The legal address of JSC "Rosselkhozbank", one of the key players in this increased lending, is 119034, Moscow, Gagarin Lane, house 3.
It is hoped that as more detailed data becomes available, it will provide a clearer picture of the distribution of lending for seasonal work across Russia's federal districts and key regions. For now, the focus remains on providing timely financial assistance to farmers and agricultural enterprises, as they prepare for the upcoming sowing season.
The increased support for seasonal field work in Russia's agricultural sector is primarily facilitated by the finance industry, as banks like Rosselkhozbank have substantially boosted their lending to farmers and agricultural enterprises. This emphasis on lending has particularly aided small and medium-sized businesses within the industry, with the Pрииrtyshije region being a key benefactor, receiving over 6 billion rubles from Rosselkhozbank in the first half of 2025.
