Alpinilla Pasasa is no longer alive.
The Bovensiepen family, renowned for their Alpina brand, has announced a new venture in the automotive industry—the Bovensiepen Zagato. This collaboration with the Italian design house Zagato marks the German family's first project following BMW's acquisition of the Alpina trademark rights, set to take effect in 2026.
The announcement was made at FuoriConcorso on Lake Como, a gathering of the automotive elite each spring. The Bovensiepen Zagato, essentially an enhanced BMW M4, boasts an unique four-seater coupé design, with Andrea Zagato gracefully unveiling it alongside Andreas Bovensiepen.
The partnership with Zagato is expected to serve as a significant boost for the brand, given its already established customer base. The Zagato name is prominently displayed on the vehicle, subtly placed alongside Bovensiepen on the side air intakes.
One would be hard-pressed to miss the BMW DNA in the Bovensiepen Zagato, yet the vehicle showcases considerable modifications. The heart of the car is a powerful BMW engine with over 600 PS, paired with an automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The body, largely made of carbon fiber, features iconic Zagato design elements like the "Double Bubble" roof, which gives the vehicle a distinct and stylish appearance.
The interior boasts full Lavalina leather and Alcantara, with over 250 hours spent on each car's craftsmanship. The vehicle is both a luxurious gran turismo and a performance powerhouse, though its final handling characteristics remain to be experienced. Deliveries will not commence before 2026, with the promise that the Zagato will cater to family outings as well as being a formidable track contender.
The Bovensiepen Zagato is anticipated to be an exclusive and high-priced model compared to previous Alpina products due to its bespoke nature and limited production. The exact number of vehicles produced and pricing details have yet to be released. As Buchloe's activities continue to unfold, anticipation for the Bovensiepen Zagato grows amid the automotive community.
The Bovensiepen family's new venture in the automotive industry, the Bovensiepen Zagato, is projected to receive substantial financial support from the industry, given its anticipated exclusivity and high price point compared to previous Alpina products. The collaboration with Zagato is anticipated to significantly enhance the brand's involvement in transportation, particularly in the manufacture of other motor vehicles.
