Stuttgart residents and commuters will notice some changes to their bus routes starting from Monday, September 11, 2023. The city is undertaking a series of renovations aimed at improving accessibility, particularly at the "Schwabengarage" car dealership on Wilferdinger Height.

One of the most significant changes will be the renovation of the bus stop at Wilhelm-Becker-Straße. During this period, the stop will be closed, and access from Wilhelm-Becker-Straße to Mannheim Street will be rerouted via Karlsruhe Street. The work is expected to last until the end of October.

The "Eichenweg" stop in Tiergartenstraße will remain out of service in the city-bound direction, but lines 6 and early buses that were rerouted during the Tiergartenstraße construction project will resume their regular routes. To accommodate this, both sides of the stop will be converted to curb-side stops using "Kassel special curb stones".

Traffic management will be adjusted according to the construction phase, and the "Bahnhofstraße" bus stop in the northbound direction towards the main station will be moved 100 meters south, starting on September 11 and ending on the following Friday.

While specific details about the renovation of the Wilhelm-Becker-Straße bus stop in September 2023, including construction phases, affected bus lines, or alternative stops, could not be found, it is recommended to consult local public transport authorities or the city’s official transportation website for accurate and detailed information.

Additionally, a full closure of Mannheim Street is expected to begin in early October. Bus traffic through Tiergartenstraße will be possible again as the construction project there ends on September 11.

The replacement stop for city bus lines 6 and 11 is the "Tannhoferweg" bus stop. The "Wilhelm-Becker-Straße" bus stop will not be usable during the entire construction period.

These changes aim to create a barrier-free bus stop at the "Schwabengarage" and improve the overall bus service in Stuttgart. For the most up-to-date information, please visit the local public transport authority or the city’s official transportation website.

  1. The renovations in Stuttgart will not only impact the transportation sector withchanges to bus routes, but also the finance industry, as the affected businesses may experience temporary loss in revenue due to reduced foot traffic.
  2. In light of the upcoming industry-wide changes in Stuttgart's transportation system, it's crucial for finance institutions to carefully analyze and adjust their investment strategies accordingly.
