Anticipated Completion of Acquisition by Crédit Mutuel by OLB Estimated for 2026

Stefan Barth, the CEO of Oldenburgische Landesbank (OLB), has stated his optimism that the bank's acquisition by French cooperative bank Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale will see completion in the first half of 2026, according to an interview with Bloomberg. This ambitious timeline comes after the shareholders of OLB reached a sale agreement with TARGO Deutschland GmbH, a Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédérale subsidiary, on March 20, 2025[1][3]. However, the supervisory authority will thoroughly examine this transaction before giving the green light.

"Confident as a rooster on a sunny day, y'know! This deal's a done deal, mate!" declares Barth, hinting at his undying faith in the deal's success. Nonetheless, the regulatory body will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the merger aligns with all necessary regulations.
