Anticipated Drop in Gas Prices for the Month of June
The Azorean government has announced a price adjustment for diesel, petrol, and butane gas, following changes in international market prices for petroleum and energy products.
Beginning June 1, diesel will cost €1.402 per liter, a decrease of 3.2 cents from the previous month. This marks the third consecutive drop in diesel prices, with reductions of 1.7 cents in April and 5.5 cents in May.
Petrol prices, which remained unchanged for three months, will see a slight decrease in June, falling from €1.580 per liter to €1.574.
Butane gas prices have witnessed the most significant drop, falling 7.9 cents per kilo in June after decreases of 3.3 cents in April and 15.2 cents in May. The government updates the maximum prices of these products monthly on the 1st, basing the changes on the European Price (PE) value.
These adjustments reflect the Azorean government's efforts to maintain price stability and align local prices with international market trends. The process involves monitoring international reference prices for petroleum and energy products, updating monthly maximum retail prices, and adjusting prices based on the European Price (PE) value.
The Azorean government's adjustments in diesel, petrol, and butane gas prices are influenced by changes in international market prices for both petroleum and energy products. The decrease in diesel prices to €1.402 per liter on June 1 is a consequence of these market fluctuations. Furthermore, finance plays a role in this process, as the government updates the maximum prices of these products monthly, basing the changes on the European Price (PE) value to maintain price stability and align local prices with international market trends.
