Apple commits $100 billion to US production, reveals White House representative

In a significant move for the tech industry, Apple Inc. has announced a new $100 billion manufacturing pledge in the United States, as part of a broader commitment that now totals $600 billion over the next four years. The announcement was made on August 7, 2025, alongside the launch of the American Manufacturing Program (AMP), aimed at bringing more of Apple’s supply chain and advanced manufacturing activities to the U.S.

The American Manufacturing Program (AMP) will increase investments across multiple states, including Arizona, California, Iowa, Kentucky, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Utah. The program is designed to incentivize global companies to produce critical components domestically.

Apple supports over 450,000 jobs nationwide through thousands of suppliers and partners, and the new investment will further strengthen this support. About two-thirds of U.S.-made components are currently exported globally.

Part of these investments will be used for a giant factory in Texas for artificial intelligence servers. Apple also plans to add about 20,000 research and development jobs across the United States.

The pledge is a new financial commitment, following Apple's previous announcement in February where they committed to spend $500 billion on U.S. investments over the next four years. This includes purchases from U.S. suppliers and the U.S. filming of television shows and movies for its Apple TV+ service.

The announcement comes as President Donald Trump pursues an aggressive tariff and trade agenda. Some customers bought iPhones in late spring due to Trump's tariffs, and while many Apple products are currently exempt from tariffs, the tariff rates for many products are in flux. In the June quarter, Trump's tariffs cost Apple $800 million.

The White House has welcomed the Apple announcement. White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett discussed the expected investment announcement from Apple on Wednesday, stating that companies and countries have made financial pledges under Trump. White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers made a statement about the Apple announcement, calling it a win for the manufacturing industry.

Indian Apple reseller Ample is planning to grow its revenue by a third as it expands its presence and portfolio. The Apple announcement is expected to help reshore the production of critical components, potentially benefiting resellers like Ample.

In summary, Apple's new $100 billion manufacturing pledge in the United States is part of a broader $600 billion investment commitment over the next four years. The American Manufacturing Program (AMP) will boost the U.S. supply chain and component manufacturing, expand across multiple states, support over 450,000 U.S. jobs, and focus on exporting U.S.-made components worldwide.

Apple's new $100 billion investment, part of a broader $600 billion commitment, will be allocated for various purposes within the finance sector, including the construction of a giant factory in Texas for artificial intelligence servers and the addition of approximately 20,000 research and development jobs across the United States. This manufacturing pledge, along with the American Manufacturing Program (AMP), is anticipated to boost the portfolio of resellers like Ample, as it aims to grow its revenue by a third, primarily due to the reshoring of production of critical components.
