Government of Nepal Invites Applications for Chairperson and Expert Member Positions at National Cooperative Regulatory Authority

The Government of Nepal is inviting eligible Nepali citizens to apply for the positions of Chairperson and Expert Member at the National Cooperative Regulatory Authority. The application call is in accordance with Section 103(ga) of the Cooperative Act, 2074.

Applications for these prestigious positions must be submitted within 15 working days from the date of this notice, which is 2082/02/25. The notice can be accessed at the websites of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation and the National Cooperative Regulatory Authority.

To apply, applicants must submit a professional business plan. This plan should be between 3,000 to 5,000 words, typed in Nepali or English on A4 size paper, and must follow a specific format as outlined in Schedule-3. The business plan must be sealed in an envelope, and both hard and soft copies must be submitted separately in a sealed envelope.

For the Chairperson position, applicants must hold a postgraduate degree in economics, commerce, management, accounting, law, or cooperative studies and have either served in a special gazetted post of the Government of Nepal or equivalent, or have at least fifteen years of experience in international/national banks, financial institutions, or cooperatives.

Applicants for the Expert Member position must hold a postgraduate degree in economics, commerce, management, accounting, law, or cooperative studies and have at least ten years of experience in international/national banks, financial institutions, or cooperatives. They must also hold a specialization in areas like accounting, audit, law, finance, cooperative governance, or related fields.

Both positions require Nepali citizenship, high moral character and integrity, no conflict of interest or political affiliation that could impair regulatory independence, and eligibility conditions relating to age and education as specified by the authority or relevant government regulations.

Applicants must submit self-attested copies of their Nepali citizenship certificate, academic certificates, institution-verified documents, personal details, proof of age, two passport-size photographs, copies of any other relevant documents, a self-declaration, and a receipt of application fee payment. The application fee is NPR 5,000/- and should be paid to the income account (A/C No. 1140100102100201, Account No. 2.10) of the National Cooperative Regulatory Authority at Rastriya Banijya Bank.

Applications should be submitted to the National Cooperative Regulatory Authority, Harihar Bhawan, Pulchowk, Lalitpur. If the final day is a public holiday, applications will be accepted on the next working day.
