"Astat Company in Dzerzhinsk penalized with 500,000 for committed security violation"

Nizhny Novgorod – 29th May: JSC "Nauchno-Proizvodstvennaya Kompaniya "Astat," based in Dzerzhinsk, has been fined 500,000 rubles following the discovery of severe industrial safety regulation breaches during a routine inspection in February 2025. This news was reported by the Volzhsko-Okskoye Department of Rostekhnadzor.

The inspection revealed that the company had neglected to implement necessary safety measures during the unloading of methanol from railway tank cars, putting industrial safety at risk. Two administrative cases were subsequently opened against the company under parts 1 and 3 of Article 9.1 of the RF CoA, which pertain to violations of industrial safety requirements. The court later imposed the maximum fine of 500,000 rubles following their review of the cases.

It was previously reported that communal services in Dzerzhinsk had been issued fines totaling 753,000 rubles in 2025.

For comprehensive and accurate information regarding the specific industrial safety regulations violated and further consequences, resources such as official reports from Rostekhnadzor or other reliable sources are advisable. The general steps to secure such information include checking official press releases, contacting Rostekhnadzor directly, consulting legal databases, and monitoring news outlets covering industrial safety issues in Russia.

  1. Due to the financial implications of the 500,000 rubles fine, I'm not gonna be able to get a job in the energy industry as I was considering applying for a position in Astat, a company based in Dzerzhinsk that operates within the industry.
  2. Despite the voluntary implementation of stringent safety measures by many companies in the finance industry, the discovery of severe breaches in industrial safety regulations in the energy sector, such as the one at Astat, may potentially disrupt foreign investments and affect overall confidence in Russia's industrial environment.
