Atlanta Tech Village Expands to New Premises

Atlanta Tech Village, the fourth-largest technology hub in the United States, has expanded its presence with the opening of ATV Sylvan in Atlanta's South Downtown. This unique space, overseen by David Cummings, Jon Birdsong, and other innovative leaders, aims to foster the growth of up-and-coming entrepreneurs and builders.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony drew founders, investors, city council members, and members of the startup ecosystem. The revitalized building offers flexible office options, catering to solopreneurs and fast-growing businesses. During the ceremony, Mayor Dickens expressed optimism about the next generation of Atlanta's success stories thriving within these historic downtown buildings.

ATV Sylvan is the result of a project initiated in January 2024, when Jon Birdsong, a Venture Partner at Atlanta Ventures, and David Cummings, Atlanta Tech Village founder, purchased a real estate portfolio from Newport RE. Initially, Newport aimed to reinvigorate South Downtown with the property, but the pandemic and high interest rates hindered their efforts.

Newport's plans gave way to the creation of ATV Sylvan. After receiving construction permits in July 2024, the facility was completed in January 2025. Much like the Buckhead location, members can secure individual office spaces, utilize conference rooms, and access community spaces to aid business growth.

Set apart by its historical charm, the Sylvan location features preserved 100-year-old tile segments and details inspired by Atlanta's rich history within modern coworking spaces. Membership enables access to meeting rooms, common areas, and opportunities for networking and collaboration.

Aly Merritt, a well-known figure in Atlanta's startup community and the Managing Director of Atlanta Tech Village, will steer the direction of the village in her new role as President. Her extensive experience at Salesloft and within the community is instrumental in fostering the Village's commitment to helping startups scale and flourish.

ATV Sylvan will serve as the setting for the community events that have become synonymous with the ATV Buckhead location, including Startup Chowdown, advisor hours, and wellness support. Simultaneously, the new location offers an opportunity to support the growth and revitalization of the neighborhood, further intertwining Atlanta's startup accomplishments with the fabric of its business community.
