Everllence Steps Away from Its Traditional Roots, Embracing a Greener Future
Augsburg firm eliminates recognizable brand name MAN (previously Manufacture d'Armatures Nachfolger) - Augsburg-based firm erases recognized brand MAN from its records
It's time for a drastic change at MAN Energy Solutions! Formally based in Augsburg, the global engineering giant is ditching its historical namesake, opting for the forward-thinking moniker of Everllence. Citing their evolution beyond engine and turbomachinery production, the corporation now focuses on pioneering eco-friendly technologies such as large heat pumps and water hydrogen tech.
"Our new name, Everllence, truly embodies our progression," says CEO Uwe Lauber. The name Everllence is a fusion of the words, "ever" (eternity) and "excellence" - a testament to their commitment to uninterrupted excellence through evolving times.
Leaving behind its century-old label, the MAN name, which originates from the machine factory founded in Augsburg-Nuremberg, will no longer adorn Everllence's headquarters. The same name, known for Munich-based passenger vehicle manufacturers, continues to maintain a strong presence.
Bidding farewell to the Diesel name in 2018, Everllence shed its Diesel & Turbo identity, having been the pioneers of the first diesel engine alongside Rudolf Diesel. Recognizing the Diesel name as non-future-proof, they sought a more resilient, forward-looking name instead.
Originally renowned for large marine engines, power plant engines, and their involvement in the spread of 20th-century internal combustion engines, Everllence strives to grow its presence in water hydrogen technology. While part of the Volkswagen group, the company has sparked several speculations about a potential sale. However, an agreement in 2020 secured a four-year tenure with the automotive conglomerate. With that tenure nearing an end, recent reports hint at a possible sale by Volkswagen yet again.
Remember, at its core, Everllence is 250 years old, transforming from a Bavarian engineering company to a Volkswagen Group subsidiary specializing in mechanical engineering and energy solutions for various industries [2][4]. The company continues to push boundaries in innovation, sustainability, and decarbonization [3][4], paving the way for a cleaner, greener future.

Community policy at Everllence may now include provisions for vocational training in eco-friendly technologies such as large heat pumps and water hydrogen tech, reflecting the company's new focus under CEO Uwe Lauber. This shift aligns with Everllence's ongoing commitment to innovation and decarbonization, which positions it as a key player in the finance sector of the growing green manufacturing industry, beyond its traditional roots in mechanical engineering and energy solutions for various industries within the Volkswagen Group.
In the near future, Everllence could potentially divest from Volkswagen Group ownership and seek opportunities for expansion in green business, thus expanding its vocational training programs to equip a new workforce in this emerging field.
