Authorized vehicles have unrestricted access on Saturday
The Municipality of Novara has made a significant change to its city traffic regulations. In a resolution passed on September 9, the municipal administration decided to extend the time limit for on-street parking with a parking disc for authorized vehicles within the Zonal Traffic Limit (ZTL). Initially, cars with a pass were not allowed to drive through the authorized ZTL from 3 to 7 PM on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The previous time limit for on-street parking within the ZTL was 20 minutes. However, the new extended time limit now stands at 30 minutes. This change does not affect the restriction on cars with a pass from driving through the ZTL from 3 to 7 PM on Sundays, holidays, or weekdays. It also does not apply to car owners who do not have their own parking spot. Furthermore, the change does not affect the expected start date of the new city ZTLs, which is set for December 1, 2025. The decision affects car owners who do have a pass for entering the city's ZTL. The change in the time limit for on-street parking within the ZTL does not apply to cars that are not authorized to enter the ZTL or cars that are allowed to enter the ZTL outside the restricted hours on Saturdays. In addition to this change, the resolution passed on September 9 also included a partial reversal of the decision regarding the restriction on Saturdays. The restriction will no longer apply on Saturdays. This move is expected to provide relief to car owners who frequently use the ZTL and have a parking disc, making it easier for them to park within the ZTL on Saturdays. The municipal administration's decision aims to improve the overall traffic management and parking situation in the city of Novara.
