Baltika to Initiate Bottle Production
Baltika Brewery Company, the second-largest beer producer in Russia, has taken a step towards diversifying its operations with the registration of a new subsidiary, Donsteklotech, in Rostov-on-Don. The company, which was previously part of the Danish Carlsberg Group until the end of 2024, is now delving into the glass packaging industry.
According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (EGRUL), Donsteklotech's main activity will be the production of hollow glassware. However, the specifics about the timeline for the start of Donsteklotech's operations, the initial investment, and the potential external customers for its glass packaging products remain undisclosed.
Currently, the project involving Donsteklotech is in the stage of forming a team and developing a business model. Baltika operates eight breweries and two malting plants, and it appears that Donsteklotech could potentially become a single operator in the 'glass packaging' direction.
The registration of Donsteklotech will allow for the optimization of processes related to the supply of glass packaging for Baltika's own needs and potentially for external customers. As Baltika Brewery Company continues to explore new directions within its strategic development, Donsteklotech represents an exciting venture into a new industry.
Despite the head of Donsteklotech not being publicly available information, the registration of this subsidiary marks a significant step forward for Baltika Brewery Company as it seeks to expand its operations and further establish itself as a leading player in the Russian market.
