Celebrating a Historical Milestone - Commemorative Coins Launch!

Welcome to the exciting release of commemorative coins honoring the 900th anniversary of the Polotsk Savior-Euphrosyne Monastery! This historical event is being commemorated in grand style, with the new coins hitting the market on May 19.

The National Bank of Belarus has announced these special coins, named "Polački Spasa-Euphrasinienski Miatrapalitski Žanoczi Manastyr. 900 Hadoŭ," in three varieties: two silver coins with denominations of 100 and 20 Br (Belarusian Rubles), and one copper-nickel coin with a denomination of 1 Br.

Made from 925 metal, the silver coins will have mintages of 5,500 and 25,000 pieces respectively. The copper-nickel coins will have a mintage of 45,000 pieces. These coins were struck at the Kazakhstan Mint, with the silver coins boasting a "proof with partial gilding" quality and the copper-nickel coin having a "proof-like with digital printing" quality.

On the obverse side, you'll find an image of the Savior-Euphrosyne Monastery, along with other design elements. The reverse side showcases a stunning stylized image of angels crowning Euphrosyne of Polotsk against the backdrop of a female monastery.
