Brandenburg's Land Speeds Up Accessibility Project: New Crossing, Bus Stops Open Early
Brandenburg's Land has funded a significant project to improve traffic conditions in public passenger transport. The project, completed two months ahead of schedule, has seen the construction of an accessible pedestrian crossing and two barrier-free bus stops on Ziesarer Landstraße, near the Netto market.
The project, funded 75 percent by the Land Brandenburg's program, has transformed the area into a safer and more accessible space. The pedestrian crossing is now well-lit and clearly marked, while the two new bus stops are equipped with tactile elements, transparent shelters, and a ramp on the side of the pedestrian and cycle path. The total cost of the project amounted to around 500,000 euros.
The search for the financing authority did not specify who funded the construction of the pedestrian crossing and bus stops. However, it's common for city funds to be involved in such infrastructure projects, as indicated by the costs of a different project on the same street.
The project, completed ahead of schedule, has enhanced safety and accessibility for pedestrians and public transport users in the area. The total cost of around 500,000 euros has been well-invested in improving traffic conditions and providing barrier-free access.
