Bremen Installs Over 100,000 kWp of Solar Panels for First Time
Bremen has reached a significant milestone in its renewable energy journey. The city has installed over 100,000 kilowatt-peak (kWp) of photovoltaic systems for the first time. This achievement comes amidst a record year for solar installations in 2023 and continued high demand in 2024.
Bremen's solar energy landscape is diverse and expansive. The postal code area 28357, particularly Borgfeld, leads with 558 installations. Meanwhile, 27578 (Bremerhaven-Lehe / Leherheide) follows closely with 425 systems. Arsten / Habenhausen in 28279 secures the third spot with 417 installations. Notably, while 28197 may not have the most systems, it boasts the highest installed capacity at 18,450 kWp due to its large roof spaces.
In total, Bremen has over 5,500 systems in the city area and another 1,400 in Bremerhaven, generating a combined capacity of 100 megawatts connected to the grid. This growth reflects Bremen's commitment to combating the climate crisis through increased use of solar energy.
Bremen's photovoltaic systems have surpassed a significant capacity milestone, demonstrating the city's dedication to renewable energy. With record installations in 2023 and continued high demand in 2024, Bremen's solar energy future looks bright.
