Brunswick's City Center Expansion Plans Progress with Architectural Competition

Brunswick's city center expansion plans are moving forward. The council approved the competition procedure in May 2025, aiming for a comprehensive architectural design that considers urban planning, traffic, and architecture. The process, a collaboration between the city, Volksbank BRAWO eG, and BOMA+, will unfold in two phases.

The first phase, focusing on urban planning, kicks off in early October 2025 and wraps up by the end of the year. Following this, the second phase, centered around high-rise building architecture, begins in the second quarter of 2026. This phase will conclude with a final jury session, selecting the best designs for the city's expansion.

The competition procedure is expected to result in a holistic architectural design that balances the city's needs with innovative, sustainable architecture. The collaboration between the city, the bank, and BOMA+ ensures a diverse range of expertise is brought to the table.
