Pforzheim, a city known for its appeal to companies, is set to designate new industrial areas to address its urgent need for additional development space. This initiative, called "Flächenentwicklung 4.0", is supported by the Industry and Commerce Chamber Nordschwarzwald (IHK).

Claudia Gläser, President of the IHK Nordschwarzwald, emphasized the importance of aligning Pforzheim's economic location for the future. She believes that the expansion of new industrial areas can make an important contribution to aligning the economic structure of the regional center with the future.

The exact timeline for the designation of the new industrial areas remains unspecified. However, the need for action is clear, as the lack of alternatives could lead to companies leaving Pforzheim in the foreseeable future.

The areas of Klapfenhardt (near Wilferdinger Height) and Viertes Kleeblatt (south of Hohberg) have been identified as potential sites for the new industrial areas. The industrial area Buchbusch, which was quickly occupied, serves as a testament to the demand for such spaces.

Historically, the share of industrial areas in Pforzheim compared to other centers in Baden-Württemberg has been too low. This has contributed to some of the existing structural problems of Pforzheim. The IHK Nordschwarzwald has been advocating for the designation of new suitable areas for industrial expansion for several years.

The initiative to develop new industrial sites in Pforzheim is welcomed by the IHK. Claudia Gläser emphasized the need for expanding new industrial areas in Pforzheim to ensure the city remains an attractive economic location. She also highlighted the potential for Pforzheim to make an important contribution to the regional economy through the expansion of new industrial areas.

Action on industrial expansion in Pforzheim should be taken swiftly and decisively to prevent companies from leaving the region or settling in other regions. This article is archived on the website, and some information may no longer be current.
