Business transactions involving pre-established companies within the city are on the rise.
Booming Business Market in Yekaterinburg
Yekaterinburg, Russia, is witnessing a surge in its business market, with a significant increase in the number of businesses for sale across various sectors.
In the third quarter of 2017, the average price of ready-made businesses in Yekaterinburg stood at 4.3 million rubles, marking a 21% increase compared to the previous quarter and a staggering 72% rise compared to the same quarter a year ago. This trend was particularly evident in the agricultural sector, where the most expensive businesses averaged 10.8 million rubles.
The services sector followed closely behind, with an average price of 4.81 million rubles. Trading enterprises and catering companies accounted for a significant portion of these businesses, with 20% and 18% of contact requests, respectively.
The internet sector also saw a notable increase, with the average price for internet stores reaching 825,000 rubles, showing a 91% increase from the same quarter a year ago. The number of offers for such businesses has also risen significantly.
The production sector, meanwhile, saw a wide range in prices, with advertisements ranging from 1.2 billion rubles for a metallurgical plant to 150 thousand rubles for a workshop for the production of carved candles. The average price for production enterprises was 9.24 million rubles.
The real estate market in Yekaterinburg is also experiencing growth, with a 72.7% increase in offers for office spaces and a 45% increase in offers for stores. The number of offers for beauty salons, bathhouses, saunas, hotels, hostels, cafes, bars, and restaurants has also increased substantially.
Interestingly, the market is currently flooded with businesses that are not ready-made, according to Yevgeny Ganeev, owner of the ready-made business store UralDelo. These businesses are either struggling or not generating profits exceeding the average salary.
Despite this, Yekaterinburg buyers remain interested, particularly in the services sector, which accounted for 32% of contact requests. The average price of ready-made businesses in Yekaterinburg is 122% of the national average.
Many owners are selling properties located in the city center, indicating a potential shift in the city's business landscape. The average quarterly price for internet stores in Yekaterinburg was approximately 5,000 to 7,000 Russian rubles per square meter.
The number of offers for bathhouses and saunas in Yekaterinburg has increased from 8 to 13 units, and the number of offers for hotels and hostels, cafes, bars, and restaurants has seen a 24% and 65% increase, respectively. The average price for entertainment businesses decreased by 44% from the same quarter a year ago.
This surge in the business market in Yekaterinburg presents both opportunities and challenges for potential buyers and sellers alike. As the market continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how these trends develop in the coming quarters.
