Carmarthenshire Council Launches Llandeilo & Ffairfach Transport Project for Flood Resilience & Active Travel
Carmarthenshire County Council is currently planning a significant transport project in Llandeilo and Ffairfach. The scheme, not yet guaranteed to proceed, aims to improve resilience to flooding, enhance access to public transport, and promote walking and cycling.
The project, following the Welsh Transport Appraisal Guidance (WelTAG), is in its early stages. It plans to create a one-way system in Rhosmaen Street to accommodate more pedestrians, making it easier for people to walk and cycle. Additionally, the project aims to build a new bypass to resolve transport issues in the area, improving access to existing bus and rail services.
The council is working diligently to ensure the project aligns with its goals and meets the needs of the community.
The Llandeilo and Ffairfach bypass project, led by Carmarthenshire County Council, is underway. Its aims include flood resilience, improved pedestrian access, and enhanced public transport connectivity. The project's future is subject to further planning and appraisal.
