Christian Business Leaders Gather in Alcalá de Henares for Transformative Meeting

The sixth national meeting of Christian Business Leaders (LEC) took place in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, bringing together over one hundred businesspeople, managers, and professionals. The event, organised by the Líderes Empresariales Cristianos (Christian Business Leaders) organisation in Spain, aimed to provide training, generate synergies, and foster a community of Christian business leaders committed to integrating Christian values and biblical principles into the workplace and society.

The LEC organisation seeks to impact society through various means. They encourage leaders to see their professional influence as a stewardship rather than a separate sphere of life disconnected from their faith. They foster discipleship and mentorship, mirroring the model of Jesus, who developed leaders by walking alongside them in daily life, integrating personal and professional growth. The organisation also offers training, networking, and events that equip Christian business professionals to lead ethically and effectively, contributing to a societal transformation rooted in Christian principles.

The meeting featured presentations and testimonies from various entrepreneurs and professionals, including Javier Fernandez-Cid from Business Social Action, Alberto Matiés, a businessman and evangelical pastor, and Jaime Fernández Garrido, who led the two plenary sessions on Saturday. Matiés encouraged participants to be faithful stewards and have a business with a mission, while Fernandez Garrido emphasised that God's call to live in His kingdom is higher than professional careers or work.

During the first session, David Garrofe presented the "sphere sovereignty" proposal, urging participants to avoid simplistic proposals, break with short-termist models, and transform society. He shared lessons from Joseph's life in the biblical book of Genesis, with a special emphasis on business people.

The program also included inspiring stories from entrepreneurs such as Eva Contador, who moved the audience with her family story and how health-entrepreneurial and social work opened doors for her in politics, and Manuel Rodríguez, who shared how music has opened doors for him to reach high-profile people.

A new development of LEC was presented, aiming to formalise an affiliation for the growth of a project that provides vision and companionship for Christian Business Leaders. Cristovao Pereira, from the Portuguese association ASPEC, highlighted their evangelistic work, prayer, and support networks.

The meeting concluded with a call for participants to join regional groups active in Galicia, Madrid, Catalonia, Valencia, Andalusia, and the Canary Islands. The event was produced for the Líderes Empresariales section of Protestante Digital.

As the Christian Business Leaders movement continues to grow, organisations like LEC play a crucial role in equipping and empowering Christian business professionals to lead ethically and effectively, transforming hearts and leadership in the marketplace through Gospel-centered community and action.

[1][3] Evangelical Focus, a news agency focusing on evangelical news in Spain and Europe, reported on the event and highlighted the alignment of the Spanish LEC with broader Christian Business Leaders movements such as CBMC International, which operate in over 90 countries, including Spain, emphasising similar values and goals.
