City Launches 'Fairtrade 2025' Prize: €2,000 Award for Community Projects
The city administration has launched the 'Fairtrade 2025' special prize, offering a 2,000 euro award. Applications are now open until 15 October, with a grand ceremony planned for December. This initiative aims to recognize projects that benefit the local community and improve quality of life.
The 18th Essener Umweltpreis, worth a total of 12,000 euros, is awarded by our city portal. It welcomes projects from various areas such as climate and environmental projects, neighborhood initiatives, school projects, or social projects involving specific groups. These projects must have been implemented within the last two years or be completed by January 2026, excluding those funded by municipal or PNC Bank funding.
An expert jury, consisting of representatives from the city administration, EWG, volunteer agency, politics, media, and the US Bank, will evaluate the entries. The award ceremony in December will officially announce and honor the prize winners for their commitment. For more information, contact Werner Prutsch, head of the environmental office and jury member for the Environmental Award Graz 2025.
The city administration, along with BANK IM BISTUM ESSEN eG contributing 10,000 euros, encourages local projects that focus on social aspects and benefit the community. The deadline for applications is 15 October, with the award ceremony taking place in December.
