Ciudad Real introduces a novel initiative within its housing sector.
The Provincial Council of Ciudad Real has announced two calls for grants aimed at boosting the tourist sector in the region. The deadlines for submitting applications are set for August 31, 2022, and the projects must be completed between October 1, 2024, and October 15, 2025.
One call is for tourist accommodation establishments, offering aid for the creation of new establishments (up to 30,000 euros), and for the improvement of establishments already in operation (up to 15,000 euros). The call for tourist accommodations includes the installation of Wi-Fi, digitization, and the implementation and obtaining of the Spanish Tourist Quality Mark, and maintenance of the management certificates of the same. Entities with a higher percentage of women, people with disabilities, or young people in their workforce will be positively favored in this call.
Another call is for bars and restaurants in municipalities, townships, and population nuclei with fewer than 2,000 inhabitants. This call offers aid for the creation of new establishments, reforms, and the acquisition of furniture and equipment, as well as those directed at ensuring accessibility. The call for bars and restaurants also includes the installation of mobile outdoor protection structures and elements for delimiting terrace space.
Actions aimed at improving accessibility, sustainability, and energy efficiency will be valued in both calls. Autonomous, SMEs, micro-SMEs, community of goods, and civil societies can access both calls.
The total investment for these calls is 527,500 euros. For detailed and accurate criteria and processes, it is recommended to consult the official website or public announcements of the Diputación Provincial de Ciudad Real, contact the local tourism or economic development offices in Ciudad Real, or check for recent official bulletins or regional government gazettes that publish the investment plans and subsidy details for 2024-2025.
In the previous call, all projects presented were attended to, finally allocating an economic contribution of 302,500 euros. These calls aim to support and boost the provincial tourist sector, contributing to its growth and development.
In the initiatives when science and technology are considered, the improvement of tourist accommodation establishments could potentially benefit from these grants by implementing digital solutions such as Wi-Fi and digitization. The installed Wi-Fi and digitization could also contribute to making bars and restaurants more appealing to visitors, which is another focus of the grants.
On the other hand, those involved in finance and business might find opportunities in these calls, as entities like Autonomous companies, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), micro-SMEs, community of goods, and civil societies are eligible for these grants that aim to improve the provincial tourism sector, thereby contributing to its growth and development, with a total investment of 527,500 euros.
