Coinbase Hacker Makes $22.95M Solana Purchase
The hacker behind the May 2025 Coinbase breach has made a significant move. They've just purchased the largest amount of Solana (SOL) since the attack, spending $22.95 million worth of USD Coin (USDC) on the cryptocurrency.
This is the second major purchase of Solana by the hacker. In June 2025, they had bought 38,126 SOL. This time, they've acquired 100,913 SOL at an average price of $227, according to on-chain data. The hacker swapped 22.95 million DAI into USDC and then bridged it to the Solana network for the purchase.
The hacker emptied most of their holdings on the wallet address, leaving only $0.47 worth of Solana. This latest transaction is the fifth on-chain activity since the May 2025 Coinbase breach, which impacted nearly 70,000 users and compromised personal data.
The hacker's latest Solana purchase, worth $22.95 million, is the largest made since the Coinbase breach. Despite investigations, there's no public information about any individuals or organizations involved in bribing customer support contractors between December 2024 and May 2025. The hacker's activities continue to be monitored closely.
