Construction of a new waste disposal facility in Ergoldsbach
The Landshut district is set to receive a new waste collection centre, serving both the communities of Ergoldsbach and Neufahrn. The construction of this modern facility is slated to begin in mid-July and is expected to be operational by the end of November or early December.
The new waste collection centre will be located along the St 2615 near the roundabout in Ergoldsbach, boasting an area of 2,400 m². The responsible authorities have planned a spacious access road from St 2615/B15 to ensure easy access to the centre. A left-turn lane from Neufahrn will also be created for added convenience.
Construction costs are estimated to be approximately one million euros, with the responsible authority for financing the project being the local municipal government or a regional waste management authority overseeing the areas. The new centre is designed to serve the growing needs of the communities, as the current waste collection centres in Ergoldsbach and Neufahrn have become inadequate due to increased demands.
The new waste collection centre is equipped for future tasks, offering ample space and secure connections. Construction traffic will observe a two-lane road usage on the St 2615, and the responsible parties aim to minimise disruptions during the construction process. A half-closure with traffic light control is planned for the construction of the left-turn lane, and the road will be resurfaced, requiring a full closure of about a week.
Upon commissioning, the new waste collection centre will necessitate extended opening hours to optimise staff deployment, as it will serve two municipalities. The glass containers in both municipalities will remain at their current locations. The new waste collection centre aims to provide a convenient, accessible, and efficient solution for waste management in the Landshut district.
