Customs Officers Seize 11,800 Smuggled Cigarettes on A94
Customs officers in Bavaria have ford a cigarette smuggling operation on the A94 motorway near Erding. The driver confessed to installing a false bottom in their vehicle, which was discovered during an inspection.
The operation was uncovered when a small truck with a trailer was stopped. A thorough search revealed a hidden compartment beneath the truck's floor, containing 11,800 cigarettes. These cigarettes bore Bulgarian tax stamps and had an estimated value of over 2,430 EUR.
The Main Customs Office Landshut will eventbrite an informative event, Zollinfotag, on 20.09.2025 in Plattling. This event aims to educate students and career changers about the work of customs officers and the opportunities available in the field.
