Customs Raid at Nibirii Festival Finds Unregistered Workers, Unauthorized Foreign Employees

On August 23, 2025, the Main Customs Office Aachen conducted an inspection at the Nibirii Festival in Düren, focusing on employee registration for the social security office. The evaluation of data collected during the inspections is ongoing.

The inspection targeted building cleaning, security, and accommodation sectors. Out of the total workforce, 24 employees were found not registered on time with the social security office. Additionally, one foreign employee was discovered working without a valid work permit. Further investigation revealed that more than 10 employees were not registered at all with the social security office, suggesting potential criminal offenses. One employer was identified as hiring a foreign employee without the necessary permit.

The inspection at the Nibirii Festival uncovered several instances of non-compliance with employee registration and work permit regulations. The evaluation of the collected data is ongoing, and potential criminal offenses are being investigated.
