Customs Raid in Hospitality Industry Uncovers Illegal Employment

Last Tuesday, the Main Customs Office Augsburg, led by Hans-Henning Kühne, conducted a local inspection day in the hospitality and accommodation industry. The operation, aimed at combating black market work and illegal employment, saw over 50 officers checking 25 businesses and questioning 60 people.

The inspection, part of the Federal Customs Administration's (FKS) risk-oriented approach, uncovered several irregularities. In the Ingolstadt area, some employees attempted to flee during the checks. Upon investigation, seven cases require further scrutiny. Three of these involve suspected illegal employment of foreigners, while four relate to withholding social security contributions. The FKS will continue to conduct nationwide and regional inspections to tackle these issues.

The Hauptzollamt Augsburg, under the guidance of Hans-Henning Kühne, is committed to maintaining fair employment practices. The recent inspection day is a testament to their dedication in reducing black market work and illegal employment within the hospitality and accommodation industry.
