Customs Raids in Borken Reveal Labour Law and Immigration Offences

Customs inspections in the Borken district have uncovered multiple labour law violations in local gastronomic establishments. Several employees were found without proper registration, residence permits, or minimum wage. Additionally, a Ukrainian man was arrested at Cologne/Bonn Airport for immigration offences.

The Main Customs Office Münster conducted inspections across various restaurants in the district. In one establishment, three employees were found to be in violation of social security registration, while another employee was not receiving the minimum wage. Furthermore, an employee was discovered working without a valid residence permit, leading to investigations against both the employee and the employer.

In a separate incident, a third establishment was found to have employees working without social security registration. Two employees were also found without their IDs, and another refused to be interviewed by the customs office, resulting in administrative offense procedures.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, a 48-year-old Ukrainian man was arrested at Cologne/Bonn Airport on an early Saturday morning. He was found to be without a valid residence status or passport, leading to his detention by federal police after an identity check.

These findings highlight the need for strict enforcement of labour laws and immigration regulations in the gastronomy sector. Further investigations are ongoing to ensure compliance and address any violations.
