CyberTech Women Entrepreneur Program Boosts Women-Led Businesses in Cyber and Tech
The CyberTech Women Entrepreneur program, a joint initiative between the Australian and Indian governments, is set to boost women-led businesses in cyber and critical technology sectors. The program, supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Telangana, India, aims to provide mentoring, financial grants, and international soft-landing support to accelerate the growth of these enterprises.
The program, part of the Australia-India Bilateral Cyber and Critical Technology Partnership (AICCTP), is expected to attract a significant number of applicants. If just 0.05% of India's 13.5 million women-owned small enterprises apply, the accelerator would receive nearly 7000 entries, making it potentially the largest startup pitch contest in the Indo-Pacific region in 2022. The program is hosted by the Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre (A3C) and backed by the Government of Telangana through its Women Entrepreneur Hub (WE Hub) in Hyderabad.
Selected start-ups will benefit from a rigorous mentoring program, financial grants, and soft-landing support in respective markets for three months post-program. The initial screening process involves video micro-pitches, pitch decks, and written materials. Six women-led Indian start-ups and six women-led Australian start-ups in areas like cybersecurity and critical technologies will be hosted by the program.
The CyberTech Women Entrepreneur program, supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Telangana, India, is poised to provide a significant boost to women-led businesses in the cyber and critical technology sectors. With the potential to attract thousands of applicants and offer comprehensive support, the program is set to foster international growth and collaboration among women entrepreneurs in the Indo-Pacific region.
