Delhi's Rs 523 Crore Plan to Combat Dust Pollution Awaits Approval
The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has unveiled a comprehensive Rs 523 crore plan to tackle dust pollution in the city. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) awaits the Delhi government's approval for this ambitious initiative.
The plan, once approved, will see teams deployed to oversee water sprinkling and monitor illegal dumping sites. This will be supplemented by upgrading construction and demolition (C&D) waste sites with essential facilities such as sprinklers and CCTV cameras. Additionally, 60 new road sweepers will be procured to maintain stretches across Delhi.
The DPCC, the authority presenting this plan, aims to significantly reduce dust pollution levels in the city. The MCD, which has proposed this Rs 523 crore budget, is eager to implement these measures once the necessary approvals are in place.
