Discussing Tomorrow's Mobility Strategy Planned by SPD
Oberhausen, Germany - The SPD Oberhausen is set to unveil its new municipal mobility strategy, "mobilhausen - learn more", at an upcoming workshop scheduled for Tuesday, October 24th. The event, which takes place at the "Supermarket of Ideas" at Goebenstraße 83, will commence at 7 PM.
Ulrich Real, the SPD's planning policy spokesperson and Sterkrade's district mayor, will kick off the workshop with an introductory speech about the basics of the new mobility strategy. This strategy, approved by the city council in June, aims to improve local mobility by engaging the community in learning about and shaping transportation options.
The strategy focuses on creating a more sustainable, accessible, and user-friendly mobility system within Oberhausen. Expertise for the implementation and design of this strategy will be provided by mobility and urban planning experts, including Lina Sommer and Boris Dresen from the Fraunhofer Institute "Umsicht".
The implementation and design of the mobility strategy will take place over the medium and long term until 2040. This timeline extends until the end of the next decade, allowing for a comprehensive and far-reaching transformation of Oberhausen's mobility landscape.
The workshop is a significant step towards the implementation of the mobility strategy. After Ulrich Real's speech, there will be a joint discussion, offering attendees the opportunity to ask questions and share their ideas.
Non-SPD members are welcome to attend the workshop, making it an inclusive event for all interested in shaping Oberhausen's future mobility. The mobility strategy serves as a working basis for the administration, offering significant political flexibility in its design process.
This strategy opening up large political scope for design, ensuring that the mobility strategy is grounded in professional knowledge and best practices in municipal mobility. The Fraunhofer Institute "Umsicht" will contribute to the workshop with their expertise, further enriching the discussion and ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the new mobility strategy.
