The New Bock Brewery Development in Berlin-Kreuzberg Unveiled
In the heart of Berlin, BAUWERT AG is set to unveil the revitalization of a historic site with the ceremonial topping-out of the New Bock Brewery development in the Berlin-Bergmann neighborhood. This urban project, marking the location of the first private brewery in Berlin, is a forward-thinking endeavor that combines modern architecture with its rich historical roots.
The development is set to take place on June 5, 2025, offering an opportunity for the public to witness this momentous occasion. The program will commence at 11:00 AM, with admission from 10:30 AM, at Schwiebusser Straße 15, 10965 Berlin-Kreuzberg.
The event will feature opening remarks by Dr. Jürgen Leibfried, Founder and Board Member of BAUWERT AG, alongside Berlin's Senators for Finance and Interior and Sports, Stefan Evers, Iris Spranger, and Martina Klement, CDO of the State of Berlin and State Secretary for Digitalization & Administrative Modernization, Senate Chancellery.
A panel discussion will follow, bringing together industry professionals, buyers, architects, and political figures to explore the future of 'The New Bock Brewery.' The conversation will encompass the role of politics, users, buyers, and architects in shaping this innovative urban quarter.
The highlight of the event will be the topping-out speech and the hoisting of the topping-out crane. Guided tours led by architect Frank Kulawig and BAUWERT AG board member Daniel Herrmann will provide a sneak peek into one of the 130 owner-occupied apartments, offering panoramic views of Tempelhofer Field and the Berlin skyline.
BAUWERT AG, in collaboration with renowned architectural firms Bonanni Gesellschaft von Architekten mbH and TCHOBAN VOSS Architekten GmbH, is realizing this project. The complex, spanning approximately 32,000 square meters of usable space, will host 220 new apartments, office and catering spaces, as well as neighborhood-serving commercial and artist studios.
By the end of 2026, this development is poised to enrich the popular Berlin-Kreuzberg neighborhood. The 10,500 square meter office building has been sold to the Berliner Bodenfonds GmbH, with offices for the State Audit Office of Berlin and the Senate Chancellery of Berlin scheduled to move in upon completion.
The New Bock Brewery has already received recognition, winning the Build Europe Award for Diversity and Sustainability as well as the B!WRD Project Developer Award, setting standards for urban quarter development.
