Drone Attack on Tyumen Oil Refinery Thwarted
An oil refinery in Tyumen, belonging to Rosneft, was targeted by drones on October 6. The emergency response, which occurred approximately 2000 km from the Ukrainian border, was successful in repelling the drone attack, preventing potential fires and explosions. The refinery, operated by LLC 'Rusinvest', produces a range of petroleum products including Euro-5 automotive gasoline and diesel fuel. Three drones were 'neutralized' on the territory of an enterprise in the Antipino microdistrict of Tyumen. Residents in the area reported temporary issues with communication and mobile internet during the emergency. This attack follows a series of drone strikes on Russian oil refineries since the beginning of October, including facilities in Tuapse, Orsk, Kinel, and Slavneft-YANOS. Despite the attempted emergency, no injuries or stoppage of work at nearby enterprises were reported. The Tyumen oil refinery, a significant producer of petroleum products, was the latest target in a string of drone attacks on Russian refineries. Swift action by emergency services averted a potential disaster, with no reported injuries or disruptions to nearby operations.
