DSV Names Maciej Walenda as New CEO of Contract Logistics

DSV has announced a significant change in its executive leadership. Albert-Derk Bruin, who served as executive vice-president for 15 years, is leaving the company. Meanwhile, Maciej Walenda has been appointed as the new CEO of contract logistics, moving up from his role as regional CEO for Europe.

The changes come after DSV reorganised its executive leadership following the acquisition of DB Schenker in April 2023. Helmut Schweighofer, Vishal Sharma, and Saskia Blochberger have joined DSV's Group Executive Committee from Schenker to strengthen integration efforts.

Maciej Walenda's promotion reflects his proven track record at DSV. Since joining in 2013, he has held several senior roles, including managing director of Poland and executive vice-president for Central and East Europe. As regional CEO for contract logistics in Europe, he demonstrated his ability to drive results in challenging market conditions. DSV's group COO, Brian Ejsing, expressed confidence in Walenda's leadership qualities.

Albert-Derk Bruin's departure after 15 years of service was acknowledged by DSV's Executive Board, who thanked him for his contributions and wished him well. Maciej Walenda's appointment as the new CEO of contract logistics signals DSV's commitment to maintaining momentum and strengthening its position in the executive branch of the market.
