The Facebook Reels Play bonus program, a new initiative launched in May 2022, offers creators a chance to monetize their content on the platform. This program, which is open to creators in the United States who meet specific requirements, provides incentives for publishing original content on Facebook Reels and achieving a certain amount of views.
To be eligible for the program, users must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have an account older than 30 days
- Have created at least 5 Reels in the past 30 days
- Have received 100k+ Reels plays in the past 30 days
- Meet Facebook's Community Standards and Partner Monetization Policies
- Have a Professional Mode profile or Page
Professional Mode, a feature on Facebook, allows creators to view audience, post, and profile insights, such as follower count and reactions to what they share on the platform. Enabling professional mode makes a page public for any user to view and follow, while still allowing creators to make specific posts available to friends only.
Once accepted into the program, creators can participate in challenges to earn additional rewards. These challenges are presented using a level system, where the current challenge must be completed to unlock the next one. Earnings from these challenges are limited to $4,000 per month.
For creators who are just getting started, building an audience by making as many Reels as possible and making them specific to their followers' interests is recommended. Creators can crosspost reels from Facebook to Instagram and vice versa, expanding their reach and potential audience.
