Emergency responders in Belarus are transitioning to a new mode of transport - take a peek
In an exciting development for the Belarusian automotive industry, a new collaboration between the country's automotive giant, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and MAZ-Kupava has resulted in the production of a modern emergency response vehicle. The new plant, which opened in April 2025, specializes in producing modern buses and employs over 1,200 people.
The vehicle in question is based on the MAZ-365, a full-metal van that has been transformed into this specific version. It is equipped with a tow hitch, visual and audible signals, and reflective elements, making it ideal for emergency and fire operations. The vehicle also boasts USB ports, 220V sockets, an air heater control unit, and a radio station for continuous monitoring during such operations.
Inside the vehicle, there are six seats and a transformer table for two people. The cab includes an air conditioner, cruise control, rear parking sensors, electric windows, electric mirror adjustment, central locking, an onboard computer, and a radio. The vehicle consists of three zones: the driver's cab, the main salon with a working area, and the cargo section for special equipment.
The new plant, capable of producing a wide range of products, has already started production with the launch of 12 buses. Plans are in place to increase production to 50 buses in May. The first eight units of this vehicle will be sent to fire stations in Brest, Vitebsk, Grodno, Minsk, Orsha, and Polotsk.
Starting from 2027, the new plant will focus exclusively on third-generation models. This decision is linked to a government decision or presidential directive, but the exact individual issuer is not explicitly stated. After 2027, the new plant will produce buses of the second and third generations until they are fully transitioned to third-generation models.
The total investment in the production of modern buses at the new plant is Br300 million. This investment underscores the commitment of the Belarusian state leadership to modernize and expand the country's automotive industry. The collaboration between the Belarusian automotive giant, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and MAZ-Kupava is a significant step towards achieving this goal.
However, no information has been provided about the collaboration or the specific vehicle mentioned in this news article. As more details become available, we will update this report to keep our readers informed.
