What's the gist of the gouging? The federal government bumped up application fees from 14.30 EUR to 21 EUR beginning July 1, that's an additional 6.70 EUR. If you apply with an E-ID, it'll clock in at 13 EUR (previously 8.60 EUR), a jump of 4.40 EUR. Unfortunately, the reminder letters sent by Vienna don't mention the new hiked fees since the city didn't see that coming.

Any Vienna short-term parking permits purchased before January 2025 will remain valid until June 30, but as of July 1, 2025, they will be rendered invalid – no exchanges or top-ups allowed.
