Ergoldsbach to Get New €1M Waste Center by Year's End
A new balance collection center is set to be built in Ergoldsbach, addressing the inadequacies of the existing facilities in both Ergoldsbach and Neufahrn. The estimated cost for this project is around one million euros.
The new center will span 2,400 m2 and is expected to be operational by the end of November or early December. Construction will commence in mid-July on a plot of land along the St 2615 (formerly B15) in Ergoldsbach. The new facility will have a spacious access road from St 2615/B15 and a left-turn lane from Neufahrn, improving traffic management.
This joint venture is a first in the region, necessitated by the limited development potential at current sites and hazardous traffic situations. The extended opening hours will optimize staff use, with glass containers remaining at their current locations in both municipalities.
The new waste collection center, coordinated by the Zweckverband Abfallwirtschaft Landshut (AWL), will benefit both communities. During construction, the St 2615 will remain a two-lane road, with a half-lane closure planned for the left-turn lane construction. The road will also be resurfaced, potentially requiring a full closure of about a week.
