Expanding Restaurant Chain: L'Osteria's Boss Aims to Significantly Increase Number of Locations

In 1999, the first L'Osteria system restaurant opened its doors in Bavaria, marking the beginning of an Italian-inspired culinary journey. Over two decades later, the restaurant chain has expanded its presence across nine countries in Europe, including Switzerland, the Netherlands, England, France, Luxembourg, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Austria, where its first international branch was established in 2011.

Last year, L'Osteria added 27 new restaurants to its portfolio, further solidifying its position in the casual dining sector. Known for its extra-large pizzas, the restaurant chain has become a popular choice for those seeking a taste of Italy without leaving their continent.

Jacek Trybuchowski, who took over the leadership of L'Osteria in the fall of 2023, after McWin acquired a majority stake in the chain, has ambitious plans for the future. He aims to expand the restaurant chain to 500 locations by 2030, making L'Osteria a European champion in the casual dining sector.

While the specifics of L'Osteria's expansion strategies beyond the goal of expanding to 500 restaurants across Europe are not yet clear, the company might consider strategic acquisitions to accelerate its growth in new markets or regions. This approach, which combines organic growth with strategic acquisitions, has been a successful strategy for many companies with similar expansion goals.

In addition to potential acquisitions, L'Osteria is expected to continue its focus on growth within the European market. However, if the company achieves its European goals ahead of schedule, it may explore opportunities for international expansion beyond Europe.

As of now, there are over 200 L'Osteria locations worldwide, with the chain not being limited to Bavaria. In fact, the expansion of L'Osteria has been a significant part of its growth since 2011, when a double-digit number of L'Osteria restaurants was reached.

This year, a new L'Osteria restaurant is set to open on Mallorca, further expanding the chain's footprint in Europe. With its commitment to quality Italian cuisine and ambitious expansion plans, L'Osteria is poised to make a significant impact on the casual dining sector in the coming years.

The community policy of L'Osteria, under the new leadership, is expected to focus on expansion strategies beyond Europe, which might include strategic acquisitions to accelerate growth in new markets or regions. The finance department, working closely with entrepreneurs and business leaders, will play a crucial role in funding these ventures and implementing the employment policy needed to support the growth of the restaurant chain, with the aim of achieving 500 locations by 2030.
