FKS Inspections Uncover Illegal Residence and Document Forgery in Catering and Hotel Industry

FKS Inspections Uncover Illegal Residence and Document Forgery in Catering and Hotel Industry

On September 19, 2025, the Financial Control of Black Work (FKS) unit from the Main Customs Office Kiel conducted inspections across multiple cities in the catering and hotel industry. The inspections targeted 27 employers and involved interviews with 151 employees. Despite thorough investigations, the identity of the official leading these inspections remains unknown.

The FKS teams visited Kiel, Steinberg, Kappeln, Hohwacht, Schönberg, Lübeck, Bad Oldesloe, Trittau, Ahrensburg, Ratzeburg, and Ahrensbök. Their mission was to ensure compliance with minimum wage and social security obligations, and to uncover illegal employment or improper receipt of social benefits.

In six cases, suspicions of illegal residence arose, with one of these also involving suspected document forgery. However, additional suspicions related to one of the affected managing directors were not found, despite extensive searches.

The FKS inspections, which took place on September 19, 2025, uncovered several cases of suspected illegal residence and document forgery. Despite the thorough nature of the inspections, no additional suspicions were found regarding the managing directors involved. The identity of the official leading these inspections remains unknown.
