Fire at Grasser's Plumbing and Heating: A Downtown McNabb Incident
A fire broke out at Grasser's Plumbing and Heating in downtown McNabb on Wednesday morning. The incident, reported at approximately 9:25 AM on Main Street, was promptly responded to by several fire departments due to the heat and the need for additional manpower.
The fire is believed to have originated in the rear part of the building's attic, causing concern among the employees. Heather Thomas, the manager at Grasser's Plumbing and Heating, and a few others were working in the office when they noticed a strange smell, similar to incense, before the fire was discovered.
Luckily, no injuries were reported during the incident. Employees were evacuated from the building, and all got out safely. The fire was located in the rear part of the building's attic and was extinguished by 1:45 PM.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, with Fire Chief David Johnson overseeing the investigation. The McNabb Fire Department was called to the scene, and the State Fire Marshall will assist in the investigation.
In the aftermath of the incident, Grasser's Plumbing and Heating is temporarily rerouting phone calls. Customers can still contact the company by texting their landline.
