Fuel prices for RON97 and RON95 remain stable
In a move to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of the people, the Malaysian government has announced that the prices for RON97, RON95, and diesel will remain unchanged until August 27 [1][2][3]. From midnight on August 28, 2025, new prices will come into effect, as set by the Malaysian Ministry of Finance under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) [4][5].
For the period from August 28 to September 3, 2025, the prices will be as follows:
- RON97 petrol: RM3.16 per litre (an increase of 3 sen from RM3.13)
- RON95 petrol: RM2.05 per litre (unchanged)
- Diesel in Peninsular Malaysia: RM2.88 per litre (an increase of 3 sen)
- Diesel in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan: RM2.15 per litre (unchanged)
In Peninsular Malaysia, the diesel prices for Euro 5 B10/B20 and Euro 5 B7 varieties are RM2.88 per litre and RM3.08 per litre, respectively. In East Malaysia (Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan), the prices for the same diesel varieties are RM2.15 per litre and RM2.35 per litre, respectively [1][3].
The government will continue to monitor global oil price trends and adjust fuel prices weekly as necessary. As of now, the price of RON97 fuel in Peninsular Malaysia is RM3.13 per litre, the price of RON95 fuel in Peninsular Malaysia is RM2.05 per litre, and the price of diesel in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan will retail at the subsidised price of RM2.15 per litre [1][2][3].
