Gaetz set to assume hosting duties at One America News, insider reveals

Recently, Gaetz chose to withdraw from the possibility of becoming attorney general as President-elect Trump expressed he lacked sufficient votes in the Senate.

This outspoken Republican figure declared earlier that he won't be returning to Congress the following year.

During an interview last month, he conveyed to conservative activist Charlie Kirk, "I'll still be engaged, but it'll be from a different angle. I don't plan on joining the 119th Congress."

On Monday night, when questioned about Gaetz being hired as an OAN anchor, OAN President Charles Herring remained silent on the matter.

The recruitment of Gaetz as an OAN anchor is a major advantage for the right-wing network, as most of its personalities remain relatively unknown.

Regrettably, OAN experienced a substantial setback in 2022 when it was dropped by DirecTV. Other major distributors have shown hesitance in broadcasting its content, and OAN has encouraged viewers to stream the network online instead.

OAN has carved out a niche as arguably the most radical pro-Trump news sources.

The relatively obscure network frequently provides time to unsubstantiated conspiracy theories that bolster Trump's support. The channel even collaborated closely with Russian operatives on a propaganda-style documentary during Trump's initial impeachment in 2019, which centered on accusations of him pressuring Ukraine to investigate his political adversaries.

CNN's Brian Stelter contributed to this report.

Gaetz's decision to step away from politics could lead to more involvement in the media industry, potentially bringing a new perspective to the business side of conservative news outlets.

OAN, being a radical pro-Trump news source, might find hiring Gaetz as an anchor beneficial, providing more recognition and credibility to its business operations.
