German Customs Raid 34 Properties in Major Tax Evasion Probe

On July 15, 2025, a major operation named 'Anserem' was conducted by German customs, targeting suspects in the security industry accused of tax evasion and aiding related offenses. The operation involved searching 34 residential and business properties across multiple states.

The raids, led by the Main Customs Office Landshut and Public Prosecutor's Offices in Landshut and Munich I, resulted in the seizure of business documents, data carriers, and mobile phones for further investigation. Initial witness interviews were also conducted during the operation.

The investigation focuses on a suspected chain fraud model involving false invoices to avoid social security contributions and taxes. This is estimated to have caused a loss of at least 1.5 million euros to public and social funds. Notably, no specific names from the security industry were mentioned in the search results as being suspected of these offenses. Instead, the search results mainly address other legal and political matters.

The 'Anserem' operation highlights the ongoing efforts to combat tax evasion and fraud within the security industry. Despite no specific individuals being named, the investigation continues, with seized evidence set to be analyzed further. The estimated loss to public funds underscores the significance of these efforts.
