German MP Christian Hirte Leads LinkedIn Political Engagement

Christian Hirte, a member of the CDU/CSU faction in the German Bundestag, has been actively using LinkedIn to increase the visibility of various associations, companies, and economic actors. His posts often reflect topics he is passionate about, making him one of the most active politicos on the platform. LinkedIn has become an important tool for political communication, with politicos and parties switching between sender and receiver roles. Over half of the CDU/CSU faction members are actively using LinkedIn, with 331 out of 630 Bundestag members having a profile, and 209 being active (posting at least three times in the past three months). Hirte, specifically, has shared more than 30 posts over the past four weeks, showcasing his engagement with the platform. MPs from the governing parties, particularly the Union faction (CDU/CSU), are the most active politicos on LinkedIn. The platform provides access to politics and makes personal positions visible, demonstrating its potential for political communication. LinkedIn's role in political communication is growing, with more politicos discovering and actively using the platform. The decline in activity from certain parties, such as the Liberals, can be attributed to changes in the political landscape. As politicos like Christian Hirte continue to engage with the platform, LinkedIn's influence on political communication is set to increase.
