Ghana Chosen to Host 2025 African Women Conference

The Republic of Ghana has been selected to host the 2025 African Women Conference (AWC), reflecting its commitment to democracy, inclusivity, and women empowerment. The conference, themed 'Legacy Meets Innovation: Women Forging New Pathways for Africa's Sustainable Development', will take place from November 19 to 21.

The 2025 edition will focus on critical areas such as digital inclusion, climate resilience, leadership mentoring, and financing for women-led enterprises. It will feature keynote addresses, plenary sessions, and strategic roundtables, providing a platform for dialogue and action. Distinguished personalities including First Ladies, Ministers, Members of Parliament, and Women in Business from across Africa are expected to attend. Previous editions have been hosted by countries like Namibia, Morocco, Rwanda, and Nigeria. The conference aims to discuss pathways for advancing gender equity, leadership, and sustainable development across Africa.

The 2025 AWC in Ghana is expected to produce a Joint Communiqué and Action Framework to guide national and regional policies towards deepening gender inclusion and institutional reforms. While the host for the 10th edition in Nigeria in 2026 is yet to be announced, the AWC continues to be a significant event in promoting women's empowerment and Africa's sustainable development.
