The luxury yacht "Amadea," believed to be owned by Russian billionaire Suleiman Kerimov, a sanctioned Russian oligarch and close ally of President Vladimir Putin, is set to be auctioned in Florida. The yacht, currently anchored in San Diego, California, was seized by United States agents in Fiji on June 7, 2022, due to US sanctions against Kerimov as part of broader sanctions on Russian oligarchs.

The auction, being conducted by National Maritime Services from Florida, will accept bids until September 10. The deposit for bidders remains ten million dollars.

The seizure of the yacht "Amadea" relates to US sanctions against Kerimov, who has been sanctioned due to his involvement in the war in Ukraine. Prosecutors have stated that Kerimov was using Andrey Khudainatov as a straw man for the true ownership of the yacht. The claim of ownership for the yacht by Eduard Khudainatov, the former head of Rosneft, was dismissed by a US judge in March.

Suleiman Kerimov is a close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The prosecution alleges that Khudainatov was acting as a straw man for the true owner, Russian billionaire Suleiman Kerimov.

The yacht "Amadea" was seized in Fiji in April 2022 and is currently in the custody of the United States Marshals Service. The yacht is now held by the US Marshals Service, awaiting the auction scheduled for September 10, 2025.

Bidders interested in the auction must submit a deposit of ten million dollars to participate. The location of the yacht "Amadea" remains San Diego, California, until the auction takes place.
